Self Esteem Lesson Plans
The evaluator, inner judge, points out all our faults (e.g., I am not kind enough, I am too angry, I party too much) which our inner child interprets as reasons why we should feel unworthy and bad about who we are and what we are doing. This causes us to have low self esteem. This process is the same for you, regardless of what it is you feel unworthy to attain (e.g., love, approval, wealth, health, relationship, job). The dance of life is between learning how to release our self-judgments and our reactions to these judgments, and learning how to identify and embrace our true nature. When we are ready to accept that we are the embodiment of love, joy, happiness, and peace, we receive it. We are the only ones standing in the way of our success. To learn to get out of our way takes practice, patience, and perseverance.
The mind is the cause of our pleasure and pain. To the degree we control our minds, we control our lives. Our minds create our reality in one way by projecting onto people and situations aspects of our own personalities that the evaluator, the inner judge, has condemned as bad. Our inner child is, therefore, afraid to admit it has these negative aspects, for fear our self esteem will be lowered. Instead, we project these condemned aspects onto others and then react negatively to these traits in them. For example, if I project that you are selfish, I will judge you as bad, and before long, you will treat me badly. In this way, our thoughts support and perpetuate our reality. In this example, I don't want to admit my own selfishness, because I fear my evaluator's condemnation will lower my self esteem. Instead I will see selfishness in another and act out the evaluating judge's role on them, they will feel judged, and will react by treating me badly, thus I become their victim. I also feel "right" because they are the bad one not me.
