Sheila Radha Conrad was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the outbreak of World War II, and was raised there and in two other large cities: Miami and Los Angeles. When she was only seventeen, she attended U.C.L.A. to study psychology.
Sheila Radha entered the counseling field during the early 1970s. While conducting counseling sessions for a troubled roommate, she was discovered by a trainer of the San Francisco Gestalt Institute to already be using the principles of Gestalt therapy. The trainer was so impressed with her technique and results that he offered to teach her a condensed two-year course in a three-month intensive. There was one stipulation, however: she was to start working with clients immediately.
With her training completed, Sheila Radha went on to earn
her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology by creating the
training of Maui's Community Friends Program for the Mental
Health Association.; This program teaches people how to
relate to and befriend the mentally ill. In 1976, she
created the first self-awareness series in the Hawaiian public
schools, and during that year, was coordinator for the Hawaii
State Wellness Week. For two different Maui Mayors,
she performed in-service training in communication, stress
reduction, and efficiency skills for their cabinets. She
has been a consultant to the Easter Seal Society of Maui, the
Child Abuse Committee in the County of Maui, and the
Diamond Sangha Zendo of Maui. With service to her community
being one of her major concerns, she has devoted hundreds of
hours of volunteer work.
Sheila Radha has been a public speaker at numerous churches, organizations, and colleges and has written several articles for local newspapers. From 1976 to 1981, she served on the staff of a private high school where she formed and led Life Mastery Skills groups for teenagers, covering such topics as: sex, drugs, peer pressure, and family communication. Since 1973, in private practice with her own company, The Institute For Self Recognition, she has provided every aspect of counseling, including family therapy, couples counseling, individual transformation, sex and physical abuse, and substance abuse. She has been leading trainings for lay people and professionals in her field.
Over a two-year period, Radha led a series of successful workshops for women called, "How To Be A Woman Of Independent Means," which dealt with women coming into their power, and becoming more effective in the business world. For executives she has conducted EXCEL Management Training that include the following: Communication Skills, Goal Setting, Creating and Sustaining a Management Team, Individual Needs/Company Needs, Interpersonal Problem-Solving Techniques, Time Management, Conflict Resolution – Win/Win Methodology.

Sheila Radha has also been on TV/Radio and is a member of the National Speakers Association.
Throughout her work, Sheila Radha developed and used a special set of exercises dedicated to helping people free themselves from their past to live a life of fulfillment, filled with love, power and success. Her first publication "Self Recognition", provided a comprehensive set of exercises for those already immersed in the process of transformational work.
In 2001 Sheila Radha made a decision to discontinue her private and group practices and focus on the development of what she considers the most important aspect of her life work, the Life Mastery Skills exercises. These exercises and this website are the culmination of her goal to provide this knowledge to a wider audience.
